William Akers

 

Died of wounds aged 18 on 10/8/1915.
He was Private 2086 with the 2nd Bn. South Lancashire Regiment. Born and reside at Seacombe, Cheshire, he enlisted at Liverpool. He was the son of Edward and Sarah Akers of 2 Shaftesbury Cottages, Birchall Avenue, Seacombe, Cheshire. His brother T. Akers also fell. Buried at Wallasey (Rake Lane) Cemetery, 4. R.C. 98.
His MIC reads – Victory, British War and 1915 Star medals. Landed in France 18/2/15.
