Died on 26/8/1917. He was Private 20405 Kings Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment. Born at Manchester and enlisting at Royston, Lancs, he is commemorated on the Screen Wall at Droylsden Cemetery, C. 261. MIC – Victory, British War and 1915 Star medals. Landed in France on 9/12/15. William’s papers survive on Ancestry.
