George David Galloway

Died of wounds on 17/7/1916. George had received a Gun shot wound to his thigh on 5/7/1916. He was Private 12256 ‘A’ Company, 7th Bn. East Yorkshire Regiment. Born and enlisted at Hull, he was the son of John and Sarah Ann Galloway of Hull; husband of Gertrude Wilson (formerly Galloway) of 7 Marion’s Crescent, Courtney street, Hull. He is buried at Hull (Hedon Road) Cemetery, 315. 18. MIC – Victory, British War and 1915 Star medals, landing in France on 13/7/15. His papers survive on Ancestry.
