Edward James Griggs
Died on 1/6/1918 aged 29. He was Private 51988 Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry). The son of William Charles Griggs of 3 Jubilee Cottages, Manston, Ramsgate; husband of Rose Hannah Griggs of Stourmouth. Born at Stourmouth, he enlisted at Tidworth and resided at St. Lawrence, Kent. MIC – Victory and British War medals. He was formerly 17055 7th Bn. R.C.R. He is buried at Stourmouth (All Saints) Churchyard, West 2. 8. At All Saints Church at Stourmouth you will find his name on their Roll of Honour, he was also the last man of Stourmouth to be killed in the war.
