Robert Hitchen

Died of wounds on 2/7/1916 aged 20. He was Private 18300 13th Battalion East Surrey Regiment. The son of Jordan and Nancy Alice Hitchen of Stacksteads, Bacup. Born at Bacup, Lancs, he enlisted at Kingston-on-Thames. MIC – Victory & British War Medals. He is buried at Bacup (Fairwell) Cemetery, his name appears on the Screen Wall there, A. CE. 339.
