Horace Arthur Holsey

Died of wounds aged 30 on 5/9/1918. Horace was Private 40777 ‘B’ Company, 7th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment. The son of William Holsey, the husband of Grace Holsey of 14 York road, Shirebrook, Mansfield. He was born at Great Massingham, Norfolk, enlisting at Mexborough, and residing at Shirebrook. MIC reads – Victory & British War medals, Also noted is his previous rank of Lance Corporal with the Military Foot Police, number 3799. Horace is buried at Great Massingham (St. Mary) Churchyard, East of church. His papers survive on Ancestry.
