Sydney Charles Lester

 

Died of wounds aged 21 on 3/5/1918. He was Private 70525 Machine Gun Corps (Infantry). The son of Mrs. Jane Taylor. Born and enlisted at Burton-on-Trent.
His papers survive on Ancestry. MIC – Victory, British War and 1915 Star medals. Landing in France on 5/3/15, also noted is his previous service with the North Staffordshire Regt, number 2300. Sydney is buried at Burton-Upon-Trent Cemetery, ‘C’ 7465.
