Walter Lewis Murrell

 

Died of wounds on 14/10/1916 aged 29. He was Private 14893 7th Battalion, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. Born at Kensal Rise, he resided at Battersea, enlisting in September 1914 at Wandsworth. The son of Walter and Lucy Murrell; the husband of Emily A. Hockley (formerly Murrell) of 74 Wickersley road, Lavender Hill, London. A former employee of the De Nevers Rubber Works, Garrett Lane. MIC – Victory, British War and 1915 Star medals, landed France on 23/7/15. He is buried at Wandsworth (Earlsfield) Cemetry, his name appears on the Screen Wall there, G.B. 18. 140.
