Dennis Oates

 

Died of his wounds on 6/11/1917 aged 38. He was Private 285025 2nd Battalion, Monmouthshire Regiment. He was the son of Zinah and Elizabeth Ann Oates; husband of Violet Oates of 20 Halifax Row, Wyke, Bradford. Born at Bradford he enlisted at Newport. MIC – Victory and British War medals, also noted is his old army number of 5408. Dennis is buried at Bankfoot (St. Mathew) Churchyard, near South boundary.
