Frederick Charles Pragnell

 

Died of his wounds on 19/10/16 aged 26. Frederick was Lance Corporal 12989 14th Battalion, (1st Portsmouth) Hampshire Regiment. Born in December 1889 at West Tytherley, Hants, he enlisted at Emsworth, early September 1914. He resided at Portsmouth. The son of Robert Charles and Rosa Kate Pragnell.
Regimental casualty list published November 1916 records Frederick Pragnell as wounded in action (shrapnel wound to face and head) and being at Wharncliffe War Hospital, Sheffield. Most likely wounded in action on 3rd September 1916 during attack by 39th Division at Hamel. MIC – Victory & British War medals.
Frederick is buried at Petersfield Cemetery, 2826.
