Hubert Miles Punter

 

Died of his wounds on 22/10/1918. He was Corporal 18872 15th Welsh Regiment (Carmarthen Pals). Born and resided at Brynmenyn, Glamorgan, he enlisted at Bridgend. MIC – Victory, British War medals, landed France 18/7/15. He was originally attached to the 9th Welsh when he landed in France, transferring to the 15th later. Likely to have been wounded at some time after the 15th Welsh crossed the Ancre on 22nd August 1918 when the 38th Division began the push across the old Somme Battlefields.
Hubert is buried at Brynmenyn (Betharran) Welsh Congregational Chapleyard.
