Hiram Wilfred Spruce

Died of Tuberculous Peritonitis aged 20 on 15/8/1916, his mother was with him. At only 20 years of age he was Serjeant 15335 8th Bn. North Staffordshire Regiment. Born and resided at Wymondham, Norfolk, he enlisted at Stone, Staffordshire. MIC – Victory and British War medals. He was the son of William and Hannah Spruce of Fairland street, Wymondham. His papers survive on Ancestry. Hiram is buried at Wymondham Cemetery, B. 116.
