George Henry Walker

Died aged 34 on 7/8/1916. George was Private 14938 “C” Company, 8th Bn, York & Lancs. Born at Stairfoot, Barnsley, where he also lived. MIC reads – Victory, British War and 1915 Star medals, landed France on 27/8/15. He was the son of Noah and Henrietta Walker; husband of Clara Wilkinson (formerly Walker) of Winter Grove, Pogmoor road, Barnsley. Buried at Barnsley Cemetery, C. 70.
