James Wortham


Died of wounds on 28/3/1916 aged 26. He was Private 8645 Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. MIC – Victory, British War and 1915 Star medals, landed France 21/12/14. Born at Pimlico, London, where he enlisted, he resided at Chelsea. Son of James and Sarah Wortham of 6 Collingwood street, Kings Road, Chelsea, London. Buried at Wandsworth (Earlsfield) Cemetery, he is commemorated on the screen wall there.
